Mission--PKU INSTITUTE OF WORLD THEATRE & FILM

The Institute has a three-fold mission:

1. Producing theatre in Beijing and the surrounding areas mixing Eastern
and Western theatre artists and technicians;

2. Promoting, financing and encouraging artistic and cultural exchange
between the Chinese theatre communities and those from other
countries;

3. Developing Theatre Departments in Mainland universities where none
presently exist.

Goals

1. Provide one of the best theatre training programs in China;

2. Establish a professional multi-cultural theatre company in Beijing,
encourage creation of new works and exploration of new theatrical
forms, and give unique and inspirational theatrical experiences to the
community;

3. Advance cross-cultural understandings between China and the rest of
the world.
